Integra suspension question

I was wondering if you put the stock itr shocks/spring package on a ls 4 door usdm integra would it lower it and would it ride good etc. What would be the pros and cons of doing this cause for the package it is 100 bucks plus shipping at passwordjdm

Howdy. Well, the Type R rear shocks won't fit on your LS, you need the Type R rear lower control arms, which I think Password JDM sell for $85 or $100 a set, I forget which. It would ride pretty nice, and lower it 0.5". The Type R shocks are 115% firmer compression and 70% firmer rebound, which is a pretty good increase, but the springs are only 22% firmer front and rear.

If you want a not-too-low ride height and decent ride, but a little more aggressive than ITR, I highly recommend my setup - the Neuspeed Sofsports are the same rate as the Sports despite the "Sof" prefix, and the Tokicos are a similar damping rate as the Type R shocks. The H&R OE Sports are similar to the Neuspeeds but about 30% stiffer, I wish I went with those but it's not a big deal, mine are still pretty firm and stiff enough especially with swaybars. The Neuspeed and H&R's also have an increased stiffness in rear over front than stock, which essentially means that you'll understeer less than with stock or Type R springs.

Spring rates:
Spring Front Rear

Stock 212lb/in 117lb/in
Type R 246 140
Neuspeed 250 185
H&R 276 220

I like the idea of still having decent suspension travel for the shitty roads around here and for autocross (the ones I do are often pretty darn bumpy), and I also want a decent ride for taking girls out. But for my money the Type R springs just aren't aggressive enough, the shocks are good but if you're going through the trouble of swapping this stuff out, I would just go a little further and get something a little stiffer. I think the way my suspension is set up now is the way the car should have come stock, but of course 40-year old moms won't think that way. It's a great balance of a nice ride (no one has ever complained about the bumpiness except my parents, and that was only like once or twice), good firmness, and it lowers just enough for it to look right.

Hey thanks my main goal is to give a decently lowered look and ride for now with the type r springs and strut combo and then switch the type r springs out for skunk2 coilovers in a few months. I am not worried about the perfect ride or autocross I am more for looks in a way and wanted to know if the type r 2 door springs would lower the 4 door somewhat until I got the skunk2s. Also I planned on buying the LCA for a type r as well because I plan to do the 5 lug conversion. Thanks for your help

Why do you want the 5-lug conversion? Just curious. I don't know why people are so hot on that, besides getting the ITR wheels, but that gets spendy.

I bet you would barely notice 1/2", 1" is definitely noticeable but I still have a 2-finger gap f/r, 3 fingers with my old 195/55/14 Dunlops (smaller diameter than stock). I bet even if you notice, most people won't with 1/2". IMO 1" is about the least lowering you can do without it looking too high. If you want pics gimme your e-mail.

post in the suspension section, you'll get more responses :

the stock itr shocks/spring package will not fit on your LS....

i'm sure cost is a factor?

why not wait it out till you can get a nice combo, ie. kybs and h&r springs etcetc..

Well mainly like I was saying I just wanna buy the type r spring strut combo cause it is so cheap and the struts would be like new and stiffer and then get skunk2s. And the reason I wanna 5 lug conversion is kinda a different wheel you can email me about with pictures of a type r or something so I can see where they sit but the type r springs would only be temporary. I dont want anyone to know I am doing it cause 1 I have never seen it done and 2 I dont know if it can be done. And I have never been hot on it before until I thought of this. crx2sea@hotmail.com
