jdm dc2 front ends

I searched with the key words "JDM front end" and "JDM GSR" but couldn't find what I was looking for. I know you can get an ITR front end conversion, but what is different between the JDM ITR front end and say the JDM GSR (or Sir-G or whatever they call it) front end or even the base model's (gs/ls/rs) front end. Does everyone go ITR because it sounds cooler or are there indeed differences?

Thanks,
Josh

PS If anyone has any other suggestions for keywords for searching that would be helpful too. I know where the search button is and I'm not afraid to use it

I have seen ITR clips for sale with or without HID's so the only real difference between the two is a black housing (ITR) verses a chrome housing (all others)?

I did now:-)

I pretty much got the istallation method down, I just nedd to know if the JDM GSR front end is the same as the JDM Type-R. Veryevil's statement makes me believe they are not.

FYI, I am asking because I want to do a JDM teg front end conversion on my hatch, but also swap in a GSR motor, and figured buying a whole JDM GSR clip may be the way to go. BTW, I dont want a ITR clip with ITR motor because I plan to turbo, and although I know it is possible to turbo the c5, I would prefer to use a GSR motor.

If anyone has any further insight, or anyone I can call to find this info, it is appreciated. I have called a few importers I am familiar with, but they usually only get requests for ITR clips so they are not positive.

Thanks,
Josh

gotcha..

yeah, a GSR front clip would be your best bet.

yeah, the compression is rather high on the B18c5, thus i agree with your B18c1 choice :

try give www.afsmotorsports.com guys a call, that's my buddy Shawn and Andy.

the have all the hook ups, including the front end conversion.

the JDM front clip of the GSR (or SiR) in Japan is the same minus the front lip, which Shawn could get you..

good luck!

Wow you got a big project on your hands huh? JDM front, motor swap and turbo? I hope you got a big wallet too! That's gonna be a sweet car if you get it all done. My goals for my car are rather simple...short run goal: find OEM sides and rear. Long term goal: Turbo. I wish I could shoot as high as you. Where can you go to import an entire front clip? jdmhondaparts? That might be a cheaper alternative to getting motor and front conversion. If you find out let me know.
