I just bought my first honda... Downgraded from a audi 2005 a4 to a 98 gsr but i quickly learned to love my honda. Car was bought with 108,109 miles. Engine runs strong. but only things that really bother me is that the 2nd gear doesn't catch about 30 percent of the time... And i don't know if this is normal or not on old cars but sometimes the coolant tank will be steaming and the coolant is boiling... is that normal? And theres few minor barely noticeable dents but... cant really complain since its a 10 yr old car.
Im going to have the car checked out at a shop later this week but im wondering if anyone can give me advices on this car. Cars dumped on bilstein and neuspeeds already. Still thinking on mods. No boost i like my cars NA. And also im going to take this car to the east coast for school so... i mean i know the roads in east coast are terrible plus snow and salt so what should i do to well maintain the car?

The coolant over flowing is not normal, you really want to look into that. I would guess the thermostat is starting to f*up, it's pretty easy to change.
As for the tranny, you could try syncro-mesh and see what happens. Maybe it'll fix it, but for 20 dollars or so it's worth trying before you rebuil the tranny or get a new one. Honda supposedly make a syncromesh now that is suppose to be superior to the other ones.
Has the timing belt been changed, oil pump, water pump? Those things are suppose to be done every 90K miles, so you might want to look into that.
Do as said above. As far as bad winters, believe me, you don't live in the UP of michigan, I know bad winters. So, to keep your car rust free, wash it, frequently, and be sure to get the undercarrige wash or if you wash yourself, do that.
And why downgrade? Sure the Audi may be more plush but in terms of a real drivers car and the faster car in all areas, you definetly upgraded.
