K20 Vs. B18b - Honda Forum / Acura Forum

Hey guys let me kno what u think on this.......my friend has 04 civic Si that comes stock with a K20 which is completely stock, I have a 96 Civic with a B18B and AEM SRI, and exhaust..... I looked up the specs on the k20 and they are almost identical to mine even the gearing of the tranny is almost the same.....who do u guys think would win a race between me and him?

02-05 Civic SI sucks. I think its like 155hp. But its also lighter, and its also VTEC. Without some serious bolt ons, id give him the race.

Its a small little hatch. I would have never guessed it weighed more than an integra. But even so, that K20 still makes more torque than the B18B.

I'm pretty sure that that weight figure for the Civic EX is wrong. It's probably like 2400-2500 something. Remember its an EX, not a hatchback.

there is no ex hatchback for 1996-2000 civics..

There was a kid one time at the races over here he had an EP3 it was looking nice it had I.H.E the usual so everyone was kinda iffy about racing him cuz he said it was fast or whatever. So my boy with his CRX si races him he had I.H.E too and he took him by 3 cars, so either he didnt know how to drive his civic or they are just really that slow. Also my freind witha 98 HX with just a CAI and a muffler with his 18's took him by half a car.

Those EP3s run like high 15s and low 16s, same as an LS. The more weight advantage you have over an LS, the more likely you'll win.

I never said that there was an ex hatchback. I said remember, it's an EX, NOT a hatchback. In other words, an EX coupe.

ep3's are worthless minivans. i beat up on ep3's with boltons with my stock gsr. only good thing about them is the handling.
