First, thanks for all the feedback on my mod plans (HERE) Much help I received. Per that feedback I'm adding exhaust. But cheap and quiet are requirements. So, before my final purchase, give me your 2 cents on the exhaust plan below. The goal is to increase flow so as not to retard the benefit of my other mods but stay quiet.
DC Sports 4-2-1 Header
Stock Cat
2.25" custom pipe from the cat back
Invidia High Performance Muffler ($50 shipped)
60mm inlet (2.36"), 4 inch outlet
With Silencer!
Please comment on this relative to the mods planned below knowing that cheap and quiet are the overriding goals. Thanks!
Mods: AEM v2 cai, jdm type-r header, 2.5" cat, apex-i n1 exhaust, skunk2 intake manifold, ground control coilover sleeves, kyb gas shocks, 00 integra front end, and more to come
Personally i would increase my exhaust to a 2.5 straight to the back. Header with 2.5 collector, 2.5 straight through cat, custom pipe 2.5 to the exhaust. Thats what i did and when i get the money i plan on redoing the entire thing custom from the header back. I wanna get a custom header as well.
yea getting just a canister and staying with the stock piping isnt the brightest thing to do

With his setup - still stock 9.2 C/R and still stock 6900rpm redline - I think he's better off with something smaller than 2.5", esp. for the header collector. 2.25" or 2.36" should suit him fine most likely.
Are you sure you want an exhaust that you'll have the silencer in most of the time? Silencer sacrifices power... you could just get a fairly quiet exhaust and not worry about that silencer business.

2.25 cat back should be fine (2.36/2.38 woudl be better suited) but I would suggest that you get rid of that stock cat. A decent carsound 2.25 would be perfect with either 2.25 or 2.38) exhaust.
As for quiet, I don't think that will be all that quiet. A chambered muffler will be quiet but will loose some HP. A straight through like you selected would be best for HP but would be less quiet. A twin loop is best of both worlds, quiet and HP friendly but costly.
With the straight through muffler like you selected, make sure you have at least one resonator that is 18-24" in length. 2 18" resonators will help quiet things down with the straight through muffler.
Just get an Apex'i WS2, Greddy SP2, Thermal ST, or RS*R Ex-Mag and be done with it! Oh and that Carsound 2.25" cat.

i love the way my exhaust sounds, i have dc sport 4-2-1 header, 2.25 in. high flow cat, and skunk2 cat-back... i like how my car is loud but yet it isn't ricey... if you are lookin for a great sounding exhaust, i would look into the skunk2, but if you want something that is quiet at part throttle then look into something like the apexi ws2

You dont really LOSE power with the silencer in. You may lose some top end hp BUT you do gain some MID RANGE hp if you keep the silencer in. If you keep the cat and the resonator you probably wont need the silencer. I have an n1 and its not that loud untill i floor it.
Ruffryder744 where on the island are you?? i see you on b20 alot im also on there with the same name.
