You should launch @ 300 rpm past highest torque and shift @ 400 rpm past highest horsepower.
Ummm, no.... Where did you hear that one? Might be true in some cases but definitely not a good general guideline for any car.

It depends on your mods (read: horsepower/torque levels and curves), traction, gearing, LSD/no LSD... basically there's no right answer. Just go to the track and find out what gets you the best 60' times... not that hard to do really.

well i dont know about yall, but i launch my gsr at around 2,500-2,600.... i wont go further because ill be just spinnin in the same place. so till now that im basiccly stock that works for me. so try it and see whats up.
in my teg (b18a1) i launch at like 4K and that burns the wheels at 6k and holds at 6 till it grips then its about time to shift. that seems to work for me.
you wanna launch high enough so that when you get traction, you're already in vtec. so i usually take it to 5-5.5k when i drive gsr's. lower if the tires are bad.
