Downsides... basically just the fact that it doesn't have quite as many CCAs (cold cranking amps) as a normal battery so if you live in very cold climates it might not work out well for ya. I've had mine ~4 years and have abused it plenty (killed it probably 6 times) and it still starts right up no problem. Have started it without a problem in sub 20 degree cold and after sitting for 2 weeks.

it doesnt die because it is a dry cell battery. It doesnt hurt it when it is drained like it does a normal car battery.

Oh really? Sweet! Well it's definitely a little bit weaker with age, but I guess I've had it for 3-4 years now so any battery would be aging a bit. It did start fine in freezing temps a couple days ago
