Make 2001 Integra SE fast but Cheap.
hey i just got my first car its an integra SE(im guessin cuz it says special edition on the back) and i wanna know how to make it fast without spending too much money. I heard that if i put an Honda CR-V engine with an Integra GS-R head on it then maybe a bigger exhaust i can get like 250 hp outta it..is that true? is there better ways to make it that fast?

nope its not true
without tuneing and alot more mods you wont have even have 200 crank hp much less 200whp
the b20 bottom end doesnt add much hp, it adds torque and a header will not add but afew hp if you are lucky
an SE is just a LS with some badges and leather seats, one of my buddys has one with a 50 shot of Zex nitrous its as fast as my gsr if i dont use my nitrous
its a good car, maybe you should spend some time learning to drive it with the stock motor before you try to add any hp to it, it alot easyer to learn to luanch a stock car than a modded one,and haveing a good luanch is alot more important than haveing more hp

i dont know if you've heard that saying that goes "fast, cheap, relaible, you can only pick two." youve picked the first two, you wont last long with it. what is your budget? and your goals? what do you plan to do with the car? do you have any mechanical experience?
have you rode in an integra with 250whp before? that is already very fast for an integra, and VERY hard to make with a limited budget let alone any budget.

Even 250 crank hp is over 200whp, which you can't get reliably on a limited budget. Cheapest semi-reliable way is a good turbo setup on a stock block, but even then you're talking about several thousand dollars (I don't know what you consider "cheap"). If you still want some reliability on a limited budget and you're okay with something that's just "pretty quick", you can do some more basic mods and some weight reduction. It's not a small-block Chevy - you can't just spend a few hundred on it and expect to have a beast. Definitely not reliably.

nitrous would probablly be the cheapest way to get power out of it.

Just go with a GS-R save your self the trouble of trying to build a B20 Vtec the right way.

maybe i missed this but, what's wrong with your b18b that makes you wanna swap it? it's already a great platform for boost and a decent starting point for an lsvtec.

I think you should stop listening to your cousin. He has no clue what he's talking about.
You can do an LS/VTEC conversion and get to 200hp at the crank with some mods, or get a GS-R swap and get there with some mods, or do an all-motor non-VTEC setup and get close to that pretty easily. The last two are more reliable and simpler than the first.
Personally I'd go with a B20 non-VTEC (cheap and easy, also reliable), but since you probably have a good-condition engine considering it's a 2001 I'd maybe do some all-motor mods to the stock engine.

I/H/E for starters, that should get you most of the way there, and perhaps a new intake manifold, fuel rail/injectors/fuel pump, IDk I think I/H/E will almost get you 200hp, at the CRANK mind you. if you want 200 WHP you might need to go with pistons cams and all that jazz.
