Need Advice On Which Integra To Buy, Please Read!!!!
Ok here is my problem, I recently joined the military and will be shipping out in December for boot camp. I have decided that since i enlisted for 4 years that i will be able to afford a better car, i currently have a 95 se but the car has high miles and will cost alot of money to make fast. Here is a list of the cars im looking at with est. price and milage from kbb.com
2000 Integra Type R
$16,835 w/47k miles
2000 Integra GSR
$16,785 w/47k miles
1999 Integra GSR
$14,515 w/59k miles
1998 Integra Type R
$13,255 w/67K miles
I would love to get a type R and its really not to much diffrent then the cost of the GSR, but some people i have spoke with tell me that i should just get the 99 gsr and take out the extra money with the loan to have the motor built and buy a turbo kit any suggestions ???

If you're going turbo, definitely do NOT buy a Type R, of IMO a GS-R either.... it will be a waste of a great all-motor race engine. Why boost a motor that is going to cost $3k (for the GS-R motor) to replace if you blow it?
Also kbb.com is fucking retarded, $50 more for a Type R over a GS-R from the same year with the same mileage? Have they ever taken a look at the market??!! The Type R will of course go for a hell of a lot more than $50 over the GS-R, it's a limited model that virtually everyone wants for various reasons. Besides, I can't really see anyone going "I dunno, $50 is a pretty steep premium for a Type R..."

Ok , so far i have found
2000 GSR w/56,000 miles for $14,000
1998 CW type r w/35,000 miles for 14,000
2000 PY type r w/38,000 miles $17,000
So it seems from what im finding kbb is almost right on the dot, but i think i will take you advice and go all motor but gsr or type r???

Some people would rather have a gsr. you get - sunroof, air, slightly cheaper maintenance, slightly smoother ride, leather. Depends whether you want extra speed or extra comfort.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.... if you have to ask if you should get a Type R, you probably shouldn't. Not in offense or anything. But seriously, everything in the Type R was re-engineered for track use, it even has thicker roof rails for more strength in a rollover on the racetrack. The Type R was designed strictly as a road race and track day car, if you use it for anything else it may perform well but it's not what it was made for. This goes for drag racing and certainly putting a turbo on it. So much work went into making the Type R light, balanced, and handle beautifully, to get it and not race it on the track (and no I don't mean 1/4 mile track) would be heresy.
IMO, the '98 ITR was the best year.... Championship White (my favorite), new front end and rear bumper/taillights....

It's funny because then people mod their GS-R's by putting suspension parts on that make it stiffer than the R, and do modifications like a turbo which require more maintenance haha. I know I have, except maybe the maintenance part. But my driving style makes up for that.

yeah a ITR is track machine and it has alot of creature comforts missing. i personally dont give a shiet abot the comforts its a R thats all i need to change my mind about the ride and interior. like white98ls said u should most likely go with a GSR this would be best for you. and if u do buy a ITR keep it all motor. the car begs to made all motor it doesnt want turbo
IMO: yes the 98 championship white is sooooooo sick. have u seen the mugen one that drives around kent white98ls?

So i t would probally be best for me to get like a 00 GSR?? I guess it might be better becasue this will give me a lower car and ins. payment and that will allow me to get a JDM conversion and lot of money for mods

Nope, sadly I haven't, I've been to Kent maybe 4 times. Oh well. :
Yeah a GS-R might be better for you, it's not like it's a bad car remember that! And you're right, a GS-R should have lower insurance, not to mention a much lower risk of getting stolen, Type R's are a hot item out there like nothing else unfortunately.

For me, There would be NO QUESTION at that price....
ITR....Being able to goto TypeR expo, etc. All the retards around my town have the "R" sticker on their car, and then to be able to say, I have ITR#XXXX would be so nice, I could relax and spend more time with the lady since the ITR is my dream car..(some people say, wouldn't you want a diablo, a f50, 962 somethin? NOPE ITR)
