why not just buy a vtec head and make an ls/vtec, its fairly inexpensive and then get your motor built up.

I am kinda a newbie myself at this, but isn't it a better choice to do turbo if you have 3k to spend? I heard B18a can take quite a beat and if you do a turbo setup good it should be no problem. Doesn't Extream Turbo Kits run around $2799.00? and if you run 6 psi it should give you a +56% of hp increase right?
Isn't ls/vtec not that reliable? I don't know, I read on some other forum and that's what they told me.

with an ls/vtec you have more potential, you used to have to take it to a shop and have everything welded and stuff. From what i understand just a simple conversion kit is all thats needed and you can do that in your own garage. its all bolt on i beleive. Someone to second this would be nice.

Plus you have the LS block arleady, all you need is the head. and if youve got 4g's your gonna definantly be happier doin this.
500 bucks for a good clean head, then a couple hundred for professional install. then you still got more then 3 g's get a nice turbo with that, you could build the block more, get cams, exhaust, whatever you want. 3g's gives you alot of flexibility, you could even get turbo and nos its all up to what you want.
Youll definantly be pushing alot more is you do it this way, youll be quick, and i mean quick.

It's nice. I have it. Build it right and don't put piss poor products in it. And don't rev it to 9 ba-jillion rpm. BLOCK BUILDING/BALANCE IS KEY! Make it strong. Buy good products and do it right. My shit doesn't leak, doesn't smoke, no check engine light, no knocking or tapping. Runs like sex. and don't rush either. Take your time. Took me 11 months. It's not a factor of me being broke, it's a factor that I researched my ass off. Any questions, ask me, or anyone here who's done *** swap.... can I be LS/VTEC moderator?

B17A1/B18A1

I thought about taking a B18A1 block and slapping my B17A1 head on it. I think it'll bolt up, but I'm not sure. If not, I guess I could have some custom holes drilled. I think I can anyway?! Could this work?
