new a/c for $165?

Hey guys, whats up. I have the chance to buy a complete a/c system takin out of a G2 teg. The guy says it doesnt have any leaks and it worked when he took it out. I live in baton rouge and it is extreamly hot down here. So Im thinking of buying the system. My a/c has a leak. I know it has altleast on leak, whice is the valve where you add freon. I added 3 12 oz cans of r-134a the other day and the pressure never rose past 10 psi. So Im ready todo something about this no a/c problem. Should I try to fix mine or just but the whole system and replace whats gone bad on my system?

i would say its a matter of comparing the cost and time of repairing to replacing. but 165 for a complete A/C system sounds very reasonable, but since you already have a/c in ur car, my first course of action would be to replace the broken part first.

i dont think you should buy a complete system if your system only has one defective part. if that part is going to cost more than $165 then you might as well get the new complete kit. try fixing yours and go from there.

can use the different style

Im pretty sure the leak is in the charge port on the low side. I put a cheap retro-fit kit that was just a fitting to go over the charge port so you can use the different style equipment. I then had it re-charged and it worked great for like 2 weeks. then nothing. I reacently found out it was leaking out of the port. Im not sure if its the only leak or not.
