new intake manifold, now car won't start

Help me out, I changed my skunk2 intake manifold for my GSR and switched it back to the stock one and now my car won't start. I think that everything is hooked up properly but does anyone knowof anything that could lead to this? Mixed up sensors, vacuum lines, coolant lines, etc...?

Because the GSR manifold is better for the GSR head. You lose too much low end with the Skunk2. The ports on the Skunk2 IM don't match up to the ports on the GSR head. The Skunk2 ports are straight while the GSR ports are angled down just like the GSR manifold. A good solution wold be to fully port and polish the GSR manifold and have it portmatched to the throttle body and head. It bet it would make mor epower than the Skunk2 would on the GSR head.

Ah see, I don't have Skunk 2 IM, I have AEBS on my ITR head, and its all being port matched etc. But just about any aftermarket IM will lose low end on the engine. But I bet a port and polished and port matched Skunk2 IM with port matched TB and what not would probably make more power than what you said about the stock GSR manifold, it would just be top end which is what GSR's and VTEC cars do anyway...top end.

I guess it just depends on what you're building. Even the fastest N/A Honda in the world uses a fully ported and polished GSR manifold, so it must be good for something. I'd rather have some low and mid range along with some top end, than just all top end. Most people use these cars for their daily driver, so the GSR manifold is a better choice IMO. BTW AEBS doesn't even have a manifold for the GSR head. We're talking about a GSR head not an ITR head. The ports are totally different. The SKunk2 might make more power if it had the same treatment, but then thats like buying two manifolds, you already have the GSR manifold so why buy another one and spend twice as much to make minimal power over the GSR one. I'd still put my money on the GSR one for all around power.

I did the install completely correct but the damn thing won't start, I had it in my garage for a couple of days so could something have just gone bad that was not related to the intake manifold even though it was running fine before? I need the stock manifold to pass at a CA smog referee.

I don't have a GS-R intake manifold on my Honda sheesh! J/K. But I never knew that about the ports on the GS-R. But isn't is a good thing when you remove the secondaries out of the GS-R intake manifold? My friend did it on his and everything is good (on his LS/VTEC). But yeah I've got a Skunk2 on my B16 head, nuff said.

I know AEBS doesn't make a manifold for the GSR head, I was making reference to my POS car. Anyway, are you throwing a CEL? do you hear the fuel pump come on? is the engine atleast trying to crank? are you getting spark etc?

I am not getting a CEL, the fuel pump is priming and the engine is definitely trying to crank but it just can't turn over all the way. I am taking it all apart right now and going over everything again, with my helms, and everything is perfect, I don't understand it.

The sensors on that attach to the under side of the manifold... 2 of the plugs have the same shape and have enough natural bend and slack in the length of the wires that you could have crossed the up.

You might as well check the firing order of your spark plug wires? Shoot... pull your plugs and check to see if they've been saturated with fuel. If so replace them.

In case anyone is interested or cares, I guess my ignition coil just went bad coincidentally when the car was in my garage. I replaced the coil and the thing fired right up.

Yeah its usually something simple. Glad you got it figured out though man. props. I'd give you a positive rep but I've given out too much for today.
