newbie ??? about hid kits...

Hi! I'm new here. I just purchased a 1994 Integra LS 2 weeks ago. I've seen integras with HID lights. I'm interested in buying one. I searched already and there were "no matches". Which ones are the best? Any info would be great. Thanks in advance.

Phillips makes a HID kit. It's supposed to be pretty good but I haven't heard much about them lately :

welcome newbie! i give u props for using the search function. as far as HID kits go, Phillips has been around the longest. if u get the kit from phillips i'm sure that it will do what it's supposed to do -- give better illumination. there are other companies out there that sell hid kits. K2 is one of em. i had the K2 kits for a while now and i have no complaints so far. i have the 6000K (kelvin) hid kit.

here are some pics:

also, make sure that when u get the phillips kit specify the type of bulb for the 9006 hid kit. there's a "D2S" and "D2R". u want the D2S bulbs since it's designed for "projector" type housings (i.e. ur 94 teg). the D2R bulbs have a "reflective" shield that is designed for regular 9006 housings. (the reflective shield is used to "reflect" the light back to the mirrored housing).

check ebay, groupbuycenter.com, just to name a few. i'm pretty sure that u will get the type of HID kit that u want.

p.s.
i paid 425 bucks for my 6000k K2 hid kit (shipped)

hth.

And as always Randyman posts some helpful information! Thank you RM you make my time here alot more pleasant.

On an related note however HID if not installed by the manufacturer and or dealership as a dealer option, is many times Illegal as per local law. So be careful and check before you install.

I know several people near me that have them regardless of our law stating them to be illegal. they do look great.

Good luck,

A.
