O2 sensor Cleaning

While doing maintenance to the car last weekend, I noticed that the O2 sensor located on the exhaust was extremely dirty.

What should I use to clean it?

Ive never done it personally.. and i would find out for sure.. but i found a site with a guy who said this is how he cleaned his 02 sensor
"I removed the O2 sensor, torched it to burn off the contaminants, cleaned out the contaminant residue with brake cleaner, reinstalled, and I was simply amazed. It felt like new O2 sensors had been installed."
im not sure if thats the right thing to do.. so if anyone has any feedback..
Alex

The "pros" say not to try and clean it...of course, I read this
on a website that sells O2 sensors. I wouldn't worry about
it unless/until you start failing emission tests, or you have
some serious upgrades; the kind that makes the price of
a new sensor look like "chicken-feed".

I wouldn't clean it. The 02 sensor is pretty sensitive, so you can run the chance of messing it up. Unless your get a check engine light or engine runs like crap, leave it alone.
