me and my buddy decided his integra was in need of an oil change because his motor has 190000 miles on themildly modded ls. ended up getting 3 quarts Royal purpal 10w40 synthetic(seen it in mags and looks impresive..) and one quart of this new shit called hyper lube, in most import magazines.. its a oil supplement made for high milage cars and, also high performance cars..well we did the oil change and it runs realy good now but it was smoking a good amount, not like crazy or any thin but enough to tell its not just the cold and then some.he cant drive it because he lost his licence.but he starts it everyday.we think its the old crappy oil burning off but were not sure. i just dont want it to be a crappy supplement and mess up his motor.. thanks
Hmm, yeah, was thinkin about gettin royal purple for my car. However, IDK what would be causin that burnoff, that is kinda wierd.
As an oil related question, when that mait. required light comes on on my dash, how do you re-set it, the oil change place didn't do it last time, I still got another 1500 miles before the next change. although, maybe I should get it changed, seeing as it has not been changed since late november. I don't put that many miles on my car!

You're not supposed to switch to synthetic on a high-mileage engine because it will leak. 190k is a high mileage engine.

he said he has oll ways been using royal pupal. has any one used hyper lube or even seen it.it made his oil thick .not chunky but like syrup .maybe i have to let it run for a cupple hours to let the old oil burn off.?
IDK what mine had in it before, I put synthetic in last time.
Should I assume it was synthetic or not?
I would assume not - most people do not use synthetic on Integras.

Aw shit, last time I put Quakerste high mileage in my car, I believe that was synthetic. If I do it once, will that fuck anything up? I will swich back to reg. soon, I think I will get my next oil change here at the end of the month, I have put less than 2000 miles on the car in 4 months, but for that ammount of time i belive she is due for an oil change, after I get my friggin axles fixed.
yea ive used hyper lube oil supplement before. i had no problems using it. i told my unlce to use a quart on his ek when he did his oil change. he said his car ran smoother and idle way better.
