Okay, another exhaust question
Ok, I've looked at the stickies and threads concerning exhausts.
The sound files I found were way to short to make a good judgement on. I do not want something loud at all. I want something pretty calm and mellow if possible. I have a 00 Integra LS. I was thinking of getting an OEM type-R exhaust and trying to get that to fit. Would anyone recommend a TYPE-R exhaust or is there something better for keeping it quiet??? Where can I find an OEM type-r exhaust??
BTW, I DO NOT WANT APEXI WS or WS 2. Those are too bulky and scrape constantly.

You could try the Type R exhaust. It may need a bit of custom work to fit, but the basic layout should be the same as your LS. You may try teh Tanabe Hyper Medallion. I bet it's not to loud, or do you not want anything like that? Also, the DCSports twin loop is suppose to be very quiet.

I am trying to keep it as OEM looking as possible without the crazy sounds. The evo I thought was really loud and bulky?? I'll have to look into that one. But I've heard the type-rs and I know they aren't loud, which is why I was considering it.

WS too bulky and scrapes all the time? Are we talking about the same exhaust?? I'm lowered 1.5" in back and never scrape it, unless I were to drive it straight into a tall curb. The muffler is basically the same size, shape, and position as the OEM ITR. Unless you're talking about the resonator, that does hang pretty low, but again I'm lowered 2.0-2.1" F and 1.5" R and don't really scrape much, never scrape hard at all.
The ITR exhaust is pretty good but does not flow as well as an aftermarket one. It has bottlenecks that are less than 2.25", and even if you get those fixed by a muffler shop it still doesn't flow quite as well as a WS, although it will flow a lot better than stock. If you do want an exhaust to be as stock as possible then get the ITR but somehow it's not even really that worth it to me - why buy an exhaust that looks and performs closer to stock than anything else? This coming from a guy who was once considering buying one...
BTW I saw a Type R with the stock exhaust last weekend, I could barely tell it apart from a stock LS/GS-R exhaust. I personally hate that dull metal look of the stock muffler.

wonder if he's thinking of the N1 ... cause I know that one hangs pretty low with the whole angle of it. From all the pictures and cars I have seen wtih the WS or WS2 they are all pretty much identical canister size of the OEM exhaust.

The RS*R Ex-Mag is a nice, free-flowing exhaust and the muffler is painted black. I used to sell a ton to Integra owners when I worked for WiredSpeed.

The WS experiences I've had were on a AV6. Dual setup, and scraped the shit out of it everytime I pulled into a 1" driveway it hung so low!
I like how the ITR looks and sounds (NOT obnoxiously loud)... RSR one there looks nice.. but what does it sound like??? what does that run price wise???
I guess I haven't seen the WS for an integra, any pics???

I Picked up the Thermal R&D Stealth exaust, its 2.25, sounds great, only loud when you punch it... was going to post pics and a sound file of it, but havent gotten around to it yet. it also has a lifetime warrenty, which was a perk for me.
hope this helps

Not that low at all...
www.rs-r.com for retail prices... I think I was selling them for $490-500 shipped, I can't remember. WS2 should be a little cheaper, it's a bargain of an exhaust. Back in the day I got mine for $380 from a local shop!

I have the old WS... I showed you a pic of the RS*R already a couple posts up, with the black muffler, the WS is polished stainless steel as shown on my car.
The WS is nice and quiet, gets pretty noticeable past 4k but otherwise is quite subdued, you can hear it quietly in the background. This is with Crower cams... I've heard it on the outside on Alex's (IntegraXTR) GS-R and it sounded pretty similar, with the exception that mine idles like a friggin big-block V8 with the cams. Even with that though the idle in my car is nice and quiet once it's warmed up. My AEM CAI is definitely a lot louder than the exhaust, which is what I was aiming for.
