painting the calipers and valve cover and got the spray kind for valve cover and wondering if can use the liquid paint that im using on the calipers after like 3 spray coats on the valve?
I bought it online from some Australian shop. It's called VHT Wrinkle Plus and you can find it on a Google product search for about $11. I paited the header cover with some flat black high-temperature enamel from Autozone.
Start by laying the valve cover on the curb and spraying aircraft paint stripper all over it. Following the directions on the can, wait a few minutes and scrape off the black paint with an old plastic card. The card WILL get ruined. Use a soft-bristle brush to get paint off the lettering. Repeat if necessary. Once all the paint is gone, clean the surface thoroughly with a water-based detergent, like dish soap or Simple Green. Then mask the lettering by lightly waxing "Honda Motor Co." and the H logo with Chap Stick. Make sure its the twist-tube Chap Stick, since it's so easy to use. Then paint the valve cover thoroughly and evenly by following the directions on the can. Once it dries, scrape the paint off the lettering with a plastic card. The Chap Stick should have kept the paint from sticking to the aluminum. If there is any paint residue on the lettering, lightly sand it off with fine grit sand paper (I didn't need to sand it). I did my valve cover about two years ago and it looks the same.
