hey whats up everyone... i was just wondering if anyone has had any experience with the phantom grip limited slip differentials, and knows if it is a good lsd or not.........
I know MUGEN makes a nice one for about $1300
I personaly would go with a Quafe. The about $800 and just as good as the Mugen. Quafe is well known for there LSD's.
well im just trying to plan ahead for the future because im going to be running a turbo so i want liitle or no torque steer launching or shifting........

Appearently you have never used a Phantom grip. All they do is put pressure on the spider gears using a simple block and spring design. They actually do not provide as much force as a clutch tyoe LSD in the corners. They also do not work quite as well in a straight line, but they do offer a noticible increase in traction. Especially out of corners. I have had mine in for 30,000 miles and have never had a problem. If I had the choice I would rather have a Quafie, but they cost a lot more. I have never known anyone to have any problems in a curve or anywhere else with the Phantom Grip and I know atleast 15 people with them.
Later, Chris- don't spread misinformation

There is not even a problem in turning. They are a good low cost alternative. Make sure to get the stiffer springs available for them. They work really well especially for the money.

if the phantom grip is a pos, then why are brent rau and sean glazar using them? i know they dont help out much in the corners, but it seems like they can really help out on the straights
I agree that it is a POS compared to all of the true clutch type LSDs, but I have never had any problem at the auto-x with mine nor has my friend in his 2g integra. It works better than an open diff. for drag racing and auto-x from my experience.........sorry about the misinformation thing.....I have never heard of any problem with them until now. If I put a LSD in my GSR it will definately not be a Phantom Grip, but I still don't diss on it. Sorry if I came off wrong or said anything offensive or imapropriate. PS the people I speak of are mainly drag and street, but most of them auto-x atleast a few times a year.
Later, Chris - loves his GSR - and neons - and bronco - and RX-7 - and GLC - and dakota (well actually just sold it to one of my sponsers)
