well last night my dumbass was backing up in a gas station and somehow didnt see a black pole untill the last second...my right side mirror hit it 1st then the side of the door/fender well my friend was behind me, wondering what the hell i was doing, he got out and said there was a big dent where the pole hit, he popped it back it place or something but theres still a little dent there.
so after parking and checking the damage...theres black paint scratch's on the side. went to autozone, not much help there, the guy said to get a after market fender
well ill take a pic once i get our camera back...
*sigh* knew i should of just went home instead of stopping by there.
suggestions anyone?
That sucks man.. There's a company here named Interstate Auto, sells aftermarket parts, but built to OEM spec. Front quarter pannels are like $26 through them (For a Civic). I'd look for a company like that around you.. I'll try to see if the guys here have a website or something, but that's my idea. They helped me get a front bumper cover for $30, instead of the $250+ from Honda. Looks and fits just like genuine Honda/Acura parts.
*Edit*
I found the parts book, and there's no website listed.. but there IS a 800 number. 1-800-325-0462 See if they have shipping options or something.. This is the cheapest place i've found for OEM style parts.
Part # ACIN01C1 Fender RH (94-01) $65 (Us) $85 (Shop Price) (Ouch, higher price than last time I checked)
Mods: AEM v2 cai, jdm type-r header, 2.5" cat, apex-i n1 exhaust, skunk2 intake manifold, ground control coilover sleeves, kyb gas shocks, 00 integra front end, and more to come

should i search around for shops that sell aftermarket OEM parts?
found a couple of sites, $120-130 for a fender, looking at another $$$ to paint it huh?
Try your local junk yard you may find it already painted for 100 or less.
You dont have salvage yards there? Just check in the phone book for wrecking/salvage yards. I know of two within a 10min drive of me. Should be some in CA, with all the damn people that live there. lol
It doesnt look bad at all (Comparing to the integra I just rebuilt). It would probably be good to take the fender off and push the dent out, if its a decent sized one. If you want it flat as before, you're going to have to use bondo or something of the same sort. Push the dent out and make it smooth as you can, scuff the fender with some 180grit paper, bondo, sand off. It wouldnt be bad, since you wouldnt be filling in alot.. just making the surface smooth. A new fender would be best if you're not big on body repair.

so if i do that, what about paint? dont know much about body repair...
i'll see if my friend can help me out with it
Well.. This is where it becomes difficult. Paint is one of the most important parts, as far as looks go. If you just pushed the dent(s) out and its not too bad looking, then some touch up paint should do the trick. But if you push them out and you need to go the bondo route, I dunno if touch-up paint will do it. A regular automotive paint would be best.. Aerosol or touch-up paint is good, but it doesnt 'Seal' as well as Primer/Paint/ClearCoat like automotive paint. But, a down side to painting it correctly, is that the rest of your car may look "Dull" compared to the new painted product. It might not be too noticeable on a white car, but on black or something dark, its near always noticeable.
to be honest, your pannel doesnt look bad at all. But if I were to fix it, im near positive a LITTLE bondo would be used (Like I said before, just to smooth out the surface, to make it look smooth, once repainted) and I'd repaint it myself. That's the hard part for most people.. I grew up doing fiberglass repair, so shaping, painting, prep. work, it easy to me, and more difficult to explain. lol
As far as painting goes, its best to know someone with the equipment for doing the job. if you were any closer, i'd volunteer to help ya. Ask around and see what/who you can find. Any more questions, i'll do my best to help.
hmm im thinking of just taking the fender off and pushing the dent out.
since i dont have much money at the moment, was just thinking of getting touch up paint for now...but where can i get some of that from? autozone or something...
Touch-up paint should be at AutoZone etc.. Something to at least get it by. If there are paint chips missing etc, make sure to cover them up, or else rust will start to grow.
