i'm getting a b18c1 in my hatch today. my car doesn't have a tach or an ex cluster. anyone here know what's the max speed for each gear? i don't want to red line but i know my brother with an LS wants to race my car for the hell of it. any help would be nice.. thanx
Shoot don't have the numbers with me right now, but 1st is in the mid-high 30's, 2nd is good for 63mph I think, 3rd is good for 90mph or so. Might be off by a couple mph, so that's just ballpark.

Keep in mind its all going to be different depending on the tranny you have.
You can bet this much, your top speed in 2nd will be about 61-62 or so. They do it like this so the car can have good 0-60 times.
With my tranny I can go 39 in 1st, 62 in 2nd, about 84 or so (can't remember) in 3rd, and I don't know with 4th. That's way too fast for the street.

actually no, the gsr should be around the same, if not less than the ls, because it has shorter gearing than the ls.

The GS-R's max speed in each gear is most definitely HIGHER than the LS. Yes it does have shorter gearing but it also has a 1200rpm higher redline, and that's a lot.
