Question about type-r spoiler
I have the stock gsr spoiler on my car right now, and I was wondering will a type-r spoiler bolt right on using the same holes already in the trunk.

No, it will not cover the GSR holes if you use a OEM Type R spoiler. There are some knock-off R spoilers on eBay that will cover up the holes. There are a couple of people using these on this site and am sure they will chime in soon as to which buyer to get these from.

I don't know any vendors for sure who for sure sells one, but check e-bay. Like it will bolt up, but you will have to cover a few extra holes. IDK, I was lazy and used a red tape to cover my holes, lol.

True, you can buy the spoiler with or without a place to put your LED tail lamp, although I deleted my LED tail lamp. I got mine without, it's a genuine OEM tho, and as said they do not have the LED lamp in them. I believe I have seen some for sale with all the hardware to install an LED lamp, but no lamp, so save your lamp off your GSR spoiler.

yes it will cover the holes......all but one....the one is from the led wire...you can go to the local pepboys and put a body plug in it....thats what i did.....but go oem for best fitment.
You can find a nice used one for about 125....i was lucky and got mine for 75. then i had it painted.

There are 2 holes actuall, the one where the LED wires came out is about half covered, and there is a little white plastic doodad that has a small hole in the top as well. Neither of these will be covered.

i have a 99s with a type-r spoiler.....i can assure you.....i only covered one hole.
now i might be wrong in your case....either way.....just plug it.
after i put my plug in...i put some rtv sealant on the inside of the car under the plugs to assure no leaks.

You don't have the white plastic thing???? Wierd, maybe 99's didn't have it.
hAha, at least you have a plug, I just used packing tape to keep water out of my hole My car is more ghetto fab than many people think

I concur with 8urcivic. There are 3 holes on each side. The ITR spoiler uses 2 of them, and partially covers the third. The third hole (i think) is for the wires for the LED. The ITR spoiler (oem) did not come with an LED, so there was no hole on ITR trunks. So you need 1 rubber plug for each side. If i remember correctly, they werent the same size from either side, one was smaller than the other.
