Honestly lol, 200whp would probably be very hard to get with your average turbo build. Most of the kits you can buy come with a wastegate spring that gives you a stock bolt-on 5psi. A T3/T4 60 Trim at 5psi would probably net 230whp on a good tune. You would have to de-tune, and use a boost cut at 3psi on a VERY conservative tune to stay at 200.

A nice quick 200whp turbo build is more for the 1.6L D-Series.

Edit: Don't worry, 300whp is the peak for taking stock B-series motors....275 conservatively. It won't cost you any more money to go from 210whp to 300whp as long as your turbo can handle it....other than maybe extra costs for bigger injectors.

try 220-250whp. you can do that with a gt28 turbo for like 400 bucks. or a t3/t4 hybrid turbo in small trim. they're 400-600 bucks as well. 200whp is almost too low of a goal for a boosted setup on a b18c1. it has a 10:1 CR. at 7 psi off the right turbo you'll make an easy 250-270whp with a nice tune.

only on the b18c5 kits is it like 5-6 psi. the b18c1 kits are like 7 psi. anyway that turbo is too big for the motor anyway which is why i'm anti-turbo kit. yeah you'll make power but you'll lose to lower power n/a builds simply because that is an unresponsive turbo that they use in all their kits for cost reasons. i'd use that turbo on somthing that was 2.4 liters or larger. 60 trim t3/t4's are good to over 450whp. on of the best street turbo's i've seen on a b18c1 is the gt28rs but they are 1200 bucks and good to 350whp with the right tune. my boy has a 57 trim t3/t4 turbo on his b16 em1 si. and that thing doesn't even hit full spool untill 4500-5000 rpms. granted he makes 260whp at 7 psi.

Yea that T3/T3 Super 60 is good for peaky stupid high power at low boost. My buddy hit 260whp at 7psi on his D-SERIES lol (Yes, I beat his 260whp with my 175whp lol). I'd do that because I like that peaky high power turbo feeling...I have my all motor car for that other powerband.

I'd like to learn more about the turbos you suggested though that have a broader and more useful boosted powerband. For lower power turbo builds, the smallest trim you can find is the best.

I was looking at this kit:

eBay Motors: TURBONETICS TURBO KIT INTEGRA B16 B18 REV-SPEED 90-01 (item 160238074735 end time May-13-08 18:03:58 PDT)

Just looking and pricing at the moment. What do you guys think?

even a gt28 would be sufficient at a nice power band for your street driven b18 motor. most people will never see more than 280whp simply because it isn't worth it. why would you need a 500whp turbo for 260whp power goal?

That's a good price, but again, look at the turbo size. Thats a 63 trim...not even the 60 trim that we've been yakking about. You're on the right track; it has enough parts to start off a kit, or to sell off the pieces you want to exchange for others. But yea, 63 you wouldn't hit boost till like 5000 rpm lol.

Only thing, is that kit looks to be put together by the seller. No part number of the kit or anything. For kits, I would be looking at an identical part number that I would find on a manufacturer's website.

It also doesn't list the brands of the wastegate or BOV (just Type RS or whatever), or the intercooler.

do not get that turbo. that's toooooooooooo BIGGGGGGGGGGGGGG. you have a motor under 2 liters. you'd make power up top but get spanked in town by bolt-on civics because you'd have a horrible power band

This will be my first time tuning. I have a couple friends who drive Scions and one that drives an MR2. They told me about some local builders to speak with in Baton Rouge. I came here first to get as much information I can about tuning hondas,I also got information from team-integra and honda-tech.

Good stuff. Just make sure to keep reading up on tuning. Make sure not to get trapped into buying a turbo kit that emphasizes using an FMU to tune. You need a real program to tune (like Crome/CromePro/NepTune/EZTune/Hondata/Uberdata). Talk to those local guys about who tunes in your area, and what they like to tune with.

So the size of the trim is the size of the turbo essentially?
