i've got a 95 ls with a stock b18b1 with 155k+ on the motor and was wondering would it be worth doing any internal mods to the motor or should i just stick with external like exhaust and suspension i plan on swapping motors eventually with a type r or a gsr and i'm wondering if there may be too many miles on this motor for it to be worth modding but the motor swap is about 12 to 18 months down the road. also what's a good suspension setup. thanks in advance
well my plan was to buy a new motor then build it up with whatever i'm going for and then swap it in but the thing i'm wondering about is the amount of miles on my current motor
Another thing is to bulid the botttom end and swap out heads right now i have an ls vtec but u can build the bottom and buy a type r head or like they said just build that upthe only reason i would say swap the head like i did is so u can get the vtec.
ok so what would i look to do if i were to rebuild or build up the bottom end and do a type r vtec head swap i've been thinking alot about doing a vtec head
well basicaly go with the new main bearings, rod bearings, arp rod bolts and if u are going to vtec on a non vtec block u are gonna need the golden eagle ls/vtec conversion kit. that is basically all u need.
ok so if i get the golden eagle ls/vtec conversion kit i still need to get the rod bolts and the bearings or no and where should i purchase such conversion kit
yes u will need rod and main bearings but the golden eagle conversion kit will have the oil lines that u need but i got mine offf of ebay so try there DO NOT GET IT USED u want it new
does anyone know where to get and what would be the best head for a vtec motor for a ls/vtec (i'm looking to get about 150 and up to the wheels) i looked on ebay but i don't really want to buy a head off ebay also where do i get some kind instruction on how to do this conversion i've spoken with my friends who said that they only know of about two shops that will do it but the quality is questionable so i figured i'd do most of the work myself and then just get it tuned or finished up at a professional shop thanks in advance
