A quick question on caps and rotors.

This question is mainly about where you would reccomend getting them.

Should I try to get OEM cap and rotor, or something from like autozone, advanced ect.

I am pretty sure I need new ones, cause after putting the new plugs and wires in, while not misfireing and being silly anymore, the car still feels a little weak.

I went to my local Honda retailer and asked to get a cap and rotor for my car, and they said they have to be a licenced acura dealer to give me the parts, so I asked if I could get a part for a Honda that is the same. I was going to look into it, but when he still said no way, that basicly, there are warentee issues, and he was a dumbass, he sill refuses.

So it's either get the parts from the clocest acura dealer to me, I think appelton, or go to an autoparts store and buy some of the best caps and rotors they have. Any imput from you guys?

personally..i would take the trip to the acura dealer..for the parts..hell if i would let them touch my car but i would get the cap and rotor from them.autozone/advance is not my fav place to get "parts" sorry jeff i buy cheapo stuff from them..like my silvertars..rags..car wash...stuff like that..o yeah and car batteries..i get a discount from acura thought just b/c i know the whole dealership personally.(family friends, and some family)

How do I know if it's internal vs. External. My guess was I could get a cap/rotor off of an SI, I figured the b16 ***** has the same cap and rotor. I will try to get the part #'s.

look at your distributor. if it has only the 4 spark plug wires coming out, its internal. if there is an extra wire (5 altogether) then that extra wire is going to the external coil.

Ahh, OK, I am almost positive I have an internal one then.

then you should be ok with a civic one.

lemme give you an example. i have an jdm H22 in my accord. the jdm H22 has an internal ignition coil vs. the usdm H22 that has an external coil. the dist. caps are different, so i had to get one from either a civic si or an integra gsr to fit the H22. take the cap out of the dealership and compare it to yours. if they are dimensionally the same, it should work 99% of the time. otherwise, you might have to jump to another year.

Just go to Acura and get the right one. The OEM cap and rotor from the dealer was actually cheaper than a generic one from an autoparts store when I looked. It's like $40 total... do it right.

I could go for a trip to Appleton, maybe they could check out my car and remove my AC too while it's down there. And I could go drool over a DC5 or NSX and TSX.

i got an msd cap and rotor kit and an external blaster coil, it cost me 100 bucks, but then i saw the same thing on ebay for like 85. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/94-01...96856561QQrdZ1
this kit doesnt come with a coil, but you can get an msd coil at autozone for about 35 bucks.

Just go to freakin' summit and get a nice MSD cap/rotor kit. And if you need to, its quite easy to convert internal coil to external. In fact, MSD even includes the instructions to do so. The kit is like $50 or something. It was $45 for my car.
