well depends on the rod and the tuning of the car. many people went around 300-350 wheel horsepower on stock internals. just tune it right

I say stick with the names that have proven themselves i.e. crower and eagle. Eagles can support 600hp and cost half as much as the crowers but both are awesome.

Edit: Stock rods can take a lot but with no tuning you're just asking for trouble. But I've seen stock internal b18b's take more than 300.
