rpms drop as i roll up or down the window at idle?
rpms drop as i roll up or down the window? at idle, i notice that if i roll up the windows and just hold it, i notice that the idle drops and feels like its about to die out. it also happens wen i high beam. the only thing i changed recently was a different pcv valve. is there any problems with using other application pcv valves? i used one from a honda prelude, because they were out of integras. so it pretty much feels like the electronics stuff are robbing my engine power.
pcv valve doesn't matter in that kind of situation. My car does that a little bit too, you're probably alright. If your situation gets worse then check the usual - alternator, battery, battery terminals, etc. to make sure everything is cool.
this might mean that your alternator is getting weak. Usually what should happen is rpms should go low because of the extra load on the battery. Once the load comes on teh rpms should drop and then raise back up to bring the alternator back up to speed and give a full charge. Same thing happens to me when i have my subs cranked at idle.
Hope this helps, sounds like no major problem all the same.
It is a normal thing that happens. the lights will dim when you hold the switch. you can have the alt tested at autozone or sears. or you can aim the headlights at something with the car started if you shut the car off and the lights dim the alt is bad. But then again it wouldn't charge the batt so your car would die while driving or maybe not even start is the alt was bad.

its just the extra load on the electrical systems that the alternator has to make up for... its pretty normal...
anyone know how long the alt is supposed to last under normal conditions? say 3 years?

What i mean by my subs being cranked is that when i am stopped and my subs are turned up high and hitting hard my rpms will go down and then back up. Like it was said before it is just the extra load on the electrical. A power window motor is probably one of the highest current drawing motors in your car two by the way.
