Well, tuan's saying don't believe the hype that chipping your car will make it go faster.

Read this... needs opinions on chippin'/ECU
and then read this.... ANYONE CHIPPED THIER ECU?

both pages have very good infomation to read up on that.

Good luck,
Jason

but "your" program (I thought you didn't work there any more ?) on the core is still a "best guess" compromise based on a program done on another integra that is different from his with all of it's idiosynchrosies.

Even when my programmer, Yoshio who is very experienced at ECU programming on Hondas, does an initial program on the emulator for a customer's car, it isn't the final program he burns onto the chip. He does 5-8 iterations or adjustments to that initial program to extract the most power out of that particular car using a wideband O2 sensor to assist in tuning.

you are selling an "initial" program that has several compromises so it can fit as many cars as possible....it isn't the best fit for his car....

core or no core, it doesn't replace doing the ECU programming on his particular car at the dyno or on the track to extract the most power....

do you not agree?

I also take it that you are also implying that this "Skunk2 chip" for sale is not an authentic one since "you" (Skunk2?) only sell ECU cores (the whole computer not just the chip). Could the person not have just kept your ECU and taken out the EPROM ("chip") to be sold though?

IMO, and from reading the above....chips are useless. Buying some altezzas is a beter buy than a chipped ecu Use the money you would spend on that chip on some dyno tuning, thats well worth it.

  I said the A word

i doubt any of the "skunk2" chips on ebay are real...i have the skunk2 program and a vafc to fine tune things for now until i decide how much MORE money i want to spend into my car (engine management).

I hope you you don't rely on butt dyno assessments of whether a modification made a real difference...particularly in the upper powerband.

.

Im going to get one of those ebay chips 'cause its the cheapest way to raise your rev limit. I plan on getting cams and springs so for $20 to raise the rev limit its a cheap efective mod.
