The single most important factor in determining if you need aftermarket retainers is how high you plan to rev it. What is your intended redline?

your stock retainers will be fine at those RPM levels....if you are still trippin about it, get some ITR ones, those are for sure good to 10k......

You are correct anything below 10k for revving will be fine on stock retainers!!!!

GSR retainers are the same as type r ones, just a side note.

And lastly, there is no need to rev to 9,500rpm on skunk2 stage 2's as i think they stop making power at about 8,900rpm(not sure though.) But you freind is correct no need for retainers at the rpm of revving.

I belive the spec b's stop making power just below that about 8,600-8,700. But stage 2's and Toda B's are two different types of cams.

Stage2's are a top end cam, for more of your drag application cars.(or so i have heard and read.)

Toda b's are very good mid-to-upper range cams.

I have not seen any good dyno graphs for skunk2 cams, but i have seen good dyno's for JUN and Toda.

JUN cams are like skunk2's they are an upper range cam, with a little less mid range. Toda is a great mid-range cam and lacks a little on the upper end. JUN only puts out 4whp more then the Toda c's, but the JUN makes power a little higher.

Just trying to give a referrence point. The Bs will stop making power a bit before the Cs, since they are less aggressive.
