Springs/Coilover quality

Hey, I was looking around on Ebay and I found some cheap Coilovers and lowering springs (not sure what to go with yet) I was wondering if they would be the same ride/Quality as a well known brand like Skunk? Is it like air intake knock-offs? A lot cheaper for the same preformance?

I hope this was clear enough, if not let me know.

Joe

remember you get what you pay for... when it comes to something like coilovers i would really go with a quality set-up that has a name to back them... i kno that i would not want to be driving around on some really bad coilovers that offer a horrible ride

glad i could help... if you are lookin for an inexpensive coilover that is high quality, then look at omni-power coilovers.... i have them on my gsr and love them

Teins are hardly an arm and a leg... they are priced about the same as any other GOOD racing-based coilover with similar features. They aren't the "best" but they aren't that bad if you compare them to other real-deal coilovers (i.e. not Skunk2 knockoffs). P.S. Skunk2 coilovers suck ass too.

if u want coilovers...u should buy brand new...oh and Teins suck MONKEY DICK!! handling is the most important part of anycar as most ppl would know....i dont want to sound cocky but i can out drive and enter/exit corners at alot greater speeds than alot of highly mod'd skylines, 180s, silvias etc....ive done many hill runs to test this its teh best investment ive made

i recently bought HKS Hipermax II (D series) coilovers 7kg (f)/7kg (R) which run on this car...which u may have seen before...

skunk2 sucks. i'm sorry, but they just suck all around. i hate all their parts. there's always a problem with them.

anyway, white is right. teins are mild, but a good setup if you're looking to go full coilovers with a budget. however, even if i had the money, i don't think i'd go HKS. i just don't think i take my car to those extremes to require HKS. btw, anti-roll bars with a good spring and shock combo kicks ass. consider that too.. it's not all in the springs and shocks.

i basically dont need to worry about sway bars, strut braces or any of that....ive found a really good contact here in Aus with alot of jap hookups....i got the coils almost 1/3 cheaper than RRP...otherwise my car would still have stock sussy
i can hit tight hill corners that recommend 35kph speeds at almost 80kph...now thats a rush with no body roll or "unda unda" ...even if i decide to step the rear end out pre/post apex

ah lucky guy. my 30mph turns can only be done at 60 tops. i really need anti-rolls. the swaying freaks me out and makes me pussy out of the attack.

Ah yes, recommended speed limits as compared to your actual speed... the ultimate and final measure of performance.... Try a racetrack or some sort of legal, timed racing competition... which is scientifically/numerically measurable and not as vague and fickle as "I can take this one corner way faster than you're supposed to." I can think of lots of corners that are posted at X speed and I can take them at Y speed... hell of a lot that does to describe how a car handles... besides, big differences in performance show up much more in seconds than in actual cornering speed. What measures your driving/car in seconds? Ah that's right... RACING...
