Squeek after clutch is pressed.

Hey. So here's my problem. When I'm driving around, any time I press the clutch in, there is a squeek (it sounds like something is spinning and then slowly stops). The squeek will fade to nothing within about a second. It squeeks when I press in the clutch or if I just let off the gas and let it coast. It'll do the exact same. Squeek, and then fade away. What's going on here? Thanks.

It could be a couple of things but most likely it's either your slave cylinder or your clutch wearing out.

My car used to do the same thing before I did a clutch change. One of the major things I did ( And i heard of others doing to get rid of the squeak ) is to use lithium grease to grease up the point between the slave cylinder and the release fork.

I say it might be the clutch because the slave shouldn't be making a sound like it's spinning at all, so maybe it might be a clutch spring and the clutch going out.

Another thing not to rule out is the fact that your TOB(Throw out Bearing)/Release Bearing might be starting to go bad!

Yeah, that's after you check the slave cylinder first. Slave cylinder = 15/20 min

bearings = tranny drop = 3/6 hrs.

The slave cylinder has been known to make noises and squeak if the point between the slave and the release fork isn't greased up periodically.

Had a squeaky one myself. It's actually in the service manual when you do a clutch change to grease that little ball at the end of the slave cylinder and the groove where that ball shaped end sits at the release fork.
