Starter Problem?

Ive got a 95 Acura Integra, ive had it for about a year now and i love it. ive come across this problem about a week ago, it takes me a couple times to get it started in the morning when its cold. It will make one click and the battery will start but the engine wont turn over. Today it being 55 degrees and it wont start at all now.

ha, i am studying starters and charging systems right now as a matter of fact in my automotive class! i also had a test on it today! if i can remember correctly, which is kinda hard because i am drunk it sounds like your starter has a bad solenoid. and i know i am drunk, but what do you mean by "your battery will start?"

yea batteries don't start. Have you tried getting a jump? if it starts with a jump its a bad battery if not its the starter or wiring.

OK, this is an easy way to narrow down the problem. If the car doesnt start easily it could be the alternator. There is an easy to test it.
1. start the car.
2. remove the negative and positive wires off the battery. Yes, take both wires off the battery.
-if the car dies, than the alternator is not working and needs replacing.

If the car doesnt die then there is a problem with the battery. They don't last forever, and will have internal problems once and a while.

After that, double check the wires to the starter and make sure they are damaged or look dirty of what not. Some auto parts store can test starters and ever tell you what part is bad, or if its even the starter at all. Good luck.

Oh, check your plug, wires, and dist. cap too. Problems can start there too

to bad the old disconnecting the battery while engine running test can really make things worst now adays with todays alternators. why? because your voltage regulator knows to send a certain amount of voltage/amperage to all your electronics. when you disconect your battery, the computer gets confused and thinks it needs to provide more voltage/amperage and tells the voltage regulator to send more and bam, blown fuses and who knows what else.
