stepping on gas and the car doesn't go
Some times when my car is in 1st or 2nd gear, it doesn't go when I step on the gas. I've made sure my foot isn't riding the clutch. I just put in a new clutch last spring. The rpms don't bounce up, they are at the right place corresponding to the speed and the gear I'm in, its just like stepping on the gas pedal doesn't do any thing. Any of you guys have any idea of what could be wrong?

When was your last scheduled tune-up?
-electrical components ie; spark plugs, cap, rotor, wires needs replacement
-fuel filter needs replacement
-Idle adjustment as well as throttle cable needs to be tuned
-flush fuel delivery componenets...cleaning of the injectors etc.

you're in gear, you step on the gas, the RPM's don't go up? or they do and the car doesn't move?

At all? or slowly? this is really wierd. and just in 1st and 2nd? can you hear the engine revving? Or is gas not being supplied to it (above idle)?

the rpms don't go up at all, then after I keep pressing on the gas for a while, the car goes back to normal and works fine. This only happens every once in a while.

does it bog? does it happen when you're at low rpm's and you mash the throttle? That's what it's beginning to sound like.

ease into it, don't bog down the motor by flooding it at low RPM's.

Mine would occassionally and inconsistently bog down when starting up from a complete stop. I eventually figured it out that my O2 sensor wasn't working properly. Replaced it and the prob went away.

You're not burning coolant are you because that will cause the sensor to fail faster than it normally would?
