You might have a problem with the emissions and the location of the O2 sensor. Im not sure, but if its after the CAT you might, but if its before your wont. I have a test pipe on my DA (2nd gen integra) but Im running stock everything and it has one O2 before the cat. It does sound a little deeper but its not loud at all, and it made a noticeable mid to high end difference. If you have a cat back exhaust already, it would make it too loud for daily driving.
Im sure there will be more posts on this one, but that just my thoughts.
yea it is suppose to be to replace the cat and yea i have a cat back exhaust but i can get a stock muffler if it gets extremely loud or silencer or if i have to get a stock type muffler on but im just curious if the resonator test pipe makes it louder than when the cat convertor is on?

Well, yes and no. A resonator will reduce exhaust noise, but when your talking about one being in place of the cat then no, it wont be quieter. The cat looks like a resonator, but remember that is full of ceramic honeycombs. This ceramic greatly cuts down the noise. So again, a test pipe with a cat-back will make for one loud exhaust, especially when getting on the freeway or something.
