why not replace it yourself? I did mine and it took about 5 hr total. It will take a little longer if you have A/C. I also did my sisters car and hers has A/C. It took a little longer. A home made tool made it easier to take off the bottom pulley. All you need is a nut (1 1/2 I believe) that you can hold with a pair of water pump pliers. Even better if you can have a handle welded on to the nut. This makes it much easier to do than the CRAP that the Chilton manual says to do. Good luck. Replace all the other belts at the same time.... may as well do it while you are there....

just go to the local parts store.... I believe mine cost $30. if not... it was close...Get a manual and read up on how to do it....See if you think you will be able to do it yourself... if not get some help. I am sure that shops will rake you over the coals ....

You do not want to do it yourself. Not worth the troube and headaches you will encounter if you are not a auto mechanic. It's not one of those basic oil and filter change thing.

I am a mechanic, but I didn't think it was all that much trouble. I just hate paying someone else to do work on my car, but to each their own.... good luck

It is cake if you have a few tools, Helms manual, and can follow instructions. I think honda wants to charge you alot just for the belt. Just get a shop to do it that charges less than the dealership for labor, and they won't use a "honda" belt either.

You definitely want to have the water pump replaced along w/ the timing belt. Last time I did mine ('94 GSR), it cost me around $500. I think $350 is reasonable.

is the price of 350 for just the belt change or does that include the water pump? when i got my timing belt done it cost me 220 flat at the Acura dealership. i then found out that a guy who works on hondas near me could do it for around 100 including belt (which you have to get yourself): and on top of costing a lot of money the FUCKING dealership didn't replace one of my cylinder seals correctly and so i had one cylinder full of oil. i'm heading into the dealership tomorrow morning to see what i'm gonna get for it.
