Toda Power

Hey I am considering a greddy turbo for my 95 gsr and i have heard that forced induction engines require alot of maintenence and i found a few engines from toda racing that were extrememly expensive but worth every penny with huge intake and exhaust manifolds and larger cams on exhaust and intake and forged pistons, all of this on a b18c5 can pose as a formitable threat to most supercars today but is intirely more expensive than a turbo but what i am concerned about is the maintenence required for the turbo engine. Tell me what you guys think, thanks

there shouldnt be too much of a maintenence problem if you run it on low boost.. the greddy kit is pretty reliable if you dont turn it up too much

hmmm ... to me i would be more concerned on the maitanence on the Toda racing engine. If you had to replace an broken parts, that would be exteremely expensive and difficult to do without the help from either Toda themselves or a formidable performance shope who is familiar with Toda's tuning. jus my 2 cents.

my friends is personal friends of the toda racing company owner... ive seen his "all out PY toda ITR" @ starbucks nearby my apartment. if any of you guys are interested in some toda parts ($like today cams that retail for $1000), i can probably get you a really good quote! i aint advertising, im just helping out those who buy stuff from websites and get ripped off. hope this wasnt too off topic.

Hey Tuan I need as much input on this as i can get, I have decided not to get a type R engine instead i love my GSR and i am ganna represent it all out so i am keepin my engine but is it wiser to go turbo or N/A? Im sure this is one of the most asked questions out there and there probably isnt a definite answer but so far I am thinking either greddy turbo or vortech super but for now thanxx for your help.

Because it doesn't make most of it's power till like 7000 from what I've heard. I remeber there was this Si with 272 hp with the vortech kit on it, and it only ran a 14 sec 1/4 mile. That sucks.

Look at it this way, if you run a turbo on a daily driven car you will wan to only run boost at about 5psi maybe 7-8psi down at the track, this is to be safe and not destroy your motor. a Turbo kit runs(on a good deal) 3500. so find a used pair of toda cams for about 750( i see them quite often) shipped buy the toda dual valve springs and cams gears for about 650 more and you still have 2100 left to spend. You can then purchase your intake header and exhaust for about another 1000. you still have 1100 left then upgrade you intake mani and throttle body and timming belt for 700 more and you still have 400 left over. so if things end up being more then i say, you could find them for, you still have spent the same amount money for plenty more horsepower. not only that but all motor is much more reliable for your daily driving needs. also look at it this way, honda has never made a turbo motor, on any integra or anyother car for that matter, that tells you these cars are ment for the all motor application. unless you want to shell out more money for pistons and rings and rods etc. just my 2 cents. i think most people will agree with me and say you will be happier with all motor. hope this helps
Brandon
