Tranny/Clutch Craped Out

Well, something inj my tranny isn't working right. It wouldn't change gears and then my shift lever snapped in two! I was kinda surprised about it all. So it was stuck in second gear and I was able to drive it home. Since it would still drive, I think it's either a throw out bearing, clutch, or pressure plate problem.
I guess if it's something minor like that I'll just get a stronger clutch and lighter flywheel. If it turns out to be the tranny, maybe I'll get a Type R one with the LSD...... comments welcome.

Well, I talked with a shop and they said it sounded like the throw out bearing has messed up. I'm kinda happy now that I know it's not the actual tranny that broke. So here is what I'm thinking about getting:
Exedy Stage 2 Clutch kit
ACT Streetlite Flywheel

Lets hear some ideas, some praises, or dislikes about these items. I thought about the Prolite FW, but it just seems to low in weight for everyday driving.

Well, I'm ordering the clutch and flywheel today. I'm getting the combo from ProStreetOnline, the Exedy Stage 2 and the ProStreet Flywheel. I am really considering getting an LSD and having it put in while the tranny is out. This would be the time to do it. So, if you guys barely had enough money to do all of it would you? I would have like $110 in the bank after all this was over....

That sucks dude. I was going to buy a Hondata and a header to start getting ready to supercharge my Teg. Then the clutch went out so now here I am trying to decide what stuff to put in the tranny. I guess the Hondata can wait a few more months....
Yeah, I plan on keeping the car a really long time. As I stated, I plan to SC. After than myabe play with the internals. To make a long story short, I will keep it a long time.

How much is the shop charging you to install the clutch and flywheel? Would it be hard to DIY?

hey i dont really feel like starting a new thread but ive had somin happen to me today

My car was fine before i went to the mall and as i was leaving my car shifted fine. Then when i went to down shift it did not want to go into gear so i gently forced it in. It also didnt want to go into any other gears while the car was moving. So i parked in a parking lot and tried shifting gears just sitting in the spot and it shifted fine.
it just does not want to go into gears while its moving.... know the problem?... same prob as yours?

just went to team integra and searched around and some guy has this problem

"(I've gone threw numerous threads and have yet to find a definite answer, but if you know of one that answers this question, please feel free to link it).

Exactly what happened before the problem: Accelerating in 1st to about 6500RPM, pressed the clutch and it would not go into 2nd. I tried other gears also, but it would not go into any gear.

Symptoms:
1) While I'm cruising, when it finally DOES go into a gear, with the clutch pedal still depressed, I rev the car to match RPMs, but the car accelerates. (It normally just raises the RPMs because the clutch is still depressed, so definitely something wrong here).

2) I am able to pull off into a safe spot, but when I come to a stop, the car stalls out. (The car is in NEUTRAL).

Facts:
1) Car will turn on normally.
2) Car will go into gear when car is OFF.
3) When the engine is on, car will not go into ANY gear.
4) Under 60k on an aftermarket replacement clutch (non-performance clutch).
6) No signs of clutch fluid or tranny fluid leakage.

Probable causes I've found from searching:
1) Throwout bearing NOT disengaging.
2) Pressure plate problem.
3) I don't want to think about a new tranny.

If I were to buy an OEM ITR clutch to replace my LS-replacement clutch, will it come with new parts under "Probable causes?" i.e. pressure plate, throwout bearing, anything else?

If I am looking at a considerable amount of money to fix this probelm, I am considering upgrading it to a used GSR/ITR tranny. I'm open to suggestions based on price differences for this upgrade.

Thank you for taking the time to read this."

-------- and it ended up being a popped axle on the passanger side

Gosh why do i have so much BS with my car

It's really not that hard. If it happened at my parents house, then I would do it myself. At school, I am too busy to do it. The clutch install will run me about $300 labor and the LSD will be about $250. I am almost positive that I will be doing all this, unless something else is wrong in there.

I kinda had the same problem with my teg,i changed the master slave cylinder, slave cylinder, clutch/pressureplate/bearings. Even after all this i had the same problem coming back to me. so i gave my clutch about an inch of playand the problem went away. if u pretty much gatta let go of ur clutch all the way before it starts accelerating then i say give ur clutch pedal a little bit more play.

Man, the shop around here quoted like $250-400 just to put the LSD in the tranny for me. This seems kinda high since the shop from back home quoted me $150 with the tranny out. For those that have had it done, what did you pay for the LSD intsall?
