tranny issues

ok my 3rd question in like 5 minutes
my 95 acura integra wont move out of 3rd gear...thats how i bought it .....cheap........but i was woundering if any one has any ideas......
from what i have noticed, u cannot shift it out of third from under the car manually, u cannot shift it out of third from this shifter, and if u take ur foot off the clutch it dies( duh). any ideas?

opps sorry, we tried to manually shift it from under the car.....tough but possible and it wouldnt shift, neither would it shift if u use the stick

im not sure how he id it, but i had it checked out on base by an auto mechanic and thats what he said he did.....

What I'd do is take it to several transmission mechanics and have them drive it around to see what they think it is. These problems are extremely hard to diagnose over a message board. I'm glad you got a good deal on it, since I would never consider a car if it had tranny problems. How do you manually shift it from under the car, if you don't mind my asking?

i have no idea on how u shift it under the car but it is undriveable, since i cannot get it up to speeds equivilant to 3rd gear for a runnning start. for the record im military so people try to get rid of cars cheap when the change bases, especially overseas. so i nly paid 1 grand for it and it already had a body kit, everything works, and it came with adr ryver g6's 18's with nankang tires...so it was better than my bonniville...1990
