Tranny trouble

In my 1994 integra LS, 3rd gear will not engage. It makes a grinding noise when I try to put it into gear. All other gears , for the most part, work fine. First gear grinds when I down shift from second when the clutch is depressed, but otherwise, every gear works fine. Any advice is welcome, I'd prefer to do the work myself if possible.

sounds like a synchro. you can try double clutching in the mean time.

Yeah, synchros is what I would think. If you want to do the work yourself, get the repair manual and pull the motor out. The tranny might be toast.

How fast are you going when you shift into first from second??
