tech wrench Trouble with exhaust hitting sway bar

on my 94 gsr i just put on a new catback, which sounds great, etc, etc, however! Around 2200 RPM'S and depending on whether it's warmed up sometimes also 3500-4000 ish, there's this terrible rattling noise where the axle piping is hitting my sway bar. It has a good 1/4-1/2 clearance above it, it just rattles like nuts. it's really, obnoxious and loud. I tried a few things to fix it, including duct tape and some foam to wrap around the sway bar, but nothing seems to fix it. anyone have any wonderful ideas?
Ghetto-wonderful or professional, whatever you guys got.
Thanks!

Is it your exhaust B-pipe or your cat? My cat rubbed against my swaybar (both are aftermarket), I just bent the cat heatshielding a bit and it's all good now. Ah actually I just realized... it's probably rubbing your exhaust instead of your cat because you have an earlier G3 GS-R with that shorter cat while I have an LS which has a longer cat.

Hmm. Raising the car a touch might help. When the suspension compresses the swaybar rotates a bit. I had clearance when the car was raised but none when the car was lowered back down. Right now the coilovers are at just the right height where it clears... it used to rub still when I had a heavy passenger, but after raising the pass. front coilover 1/8" while corner-weighting the car, it doesn't rub anymore.

Derek has a few good points you should listen and try those.

If that doesnt work try checking to make sure all the spots that have hangers are fastened and secure with one loose hanger it will rattle that way. If they are all on cut the hangers and reweld them they will be come a lil higher, clear better and be slightly tighter. that will help with the vibration and noise.
