Question turbo for my baby

I planning to get the greddy kit with the 24 row intercooler. Now the problem is that the fmu that comes wih the kit doesn't work on a 2001 gsr ecu. Cause of OBD v2. I was gonna replace my ecu with either hondata or aem ecu. This would solve the problem right? Which is better hondata or aem ecu?

not to diss, but i would wait until you can get a better kit , those greddy its are bolt on turbo kits, but wont give you what you want for your money. they wont go high boost and they are like stock size dsm turbos, i think they were td051, they are small . . . .
go with a drag kit or something like that for like $200 more . . and they even come with everything you need unlike greddy , you gotta get the intercooler and shit seperate. . .
check out importparts.com .or http://www.exospeed.com/store.htm . . . they have great prices.

First off ask yourself how far do you want to go?...
As soon as you drive your Greddy turbo kit a week later you'll want more... having said that a Greddy kit is not easily upgradeable...

On to Standalones...
I think that you need to do a little research on the subject and understand how each sys Hondata and EMS works...
But basically hondata is for the street tuner who wants a safe and reliable turbo vehicle and EMS is for those who apart from that reliability want the flexibility of drag/auto x racing it's a more race oriented app...

This has been covered a lot - The whole Greddy turbo setup is weak bla bla... The TD05-18G CAN handle up to 15 PSI and spools quicker than the T3/T4. Ask yourself are you going to be boosting over 10 PSI? If not, then why get a bigger, slower spooling turbo when you won't be using it to its potential or anywhere near its potential. Personally, I'd rather have a turbo with less lag if I'm boosting like 9 PSI. Greddy kits can be had for 2400 on group buy or I know a guy that sells em if you want his info PM me. Greddy type 31 IC is like ~700 on group buys... Greddy is more expensive but you pay for the name and the near OEM quality of the parts. I've never heard of any fabrication needed on Greddy kits, whereas it is not uncommon to have some needed on DRAG, Revhard, FMAX, etc... Just do some research, if you haven't already, and plan it out. Are you going to build up your internals? Run a standalone? The Greddy blue box sucks but the Greddy kit comes with 370cc injectors which is nice(or is it 320??). No matter what kit you get you'll probably want to upgrade the fuel/ignition setup that it comes with. The Greddy kit needs a BOV and flange too. I'm probably going to go Greddy on my LS and boost under 10 PSI, whatever you do good luck
