turbo vs all motor ( different engines )

Hey Hey SH..I know this is my first post but I've been watching and looking at this site for some time. I think this is the best site for any honda/acura enthusiast. OK enough of the sucking up. I have a little problem. I'm about to purchase a sweet 94 integra LS that has about 240km ( about 140 miles give or take ). Now over the winter I'm planing to do 2 things, either swap out or turbo. 3 things come to mind. B18C type R 98 spec swap, H22 with h2b GSR tranny swap or boost my LS. Driveability is a Must. With the h22 swap I can live without PS but A/C I MUST have lol, LS would be a drag Gen3 with hondata S300 tune, RC 330 injectors and walbro fuel pump and the B18C type R would just be a swap with I/H/E and some tuning ( mostly chrome or some chipping cause by then I would be out of cash ). Now what I'm really trying to say is what would you do? what would be the most cost efficient? Sorry for the long ass post. Feel free to launch all you Nukes, cruise missles, moltov? cocktails, fire bombs and backyard special pipe bombs

If absolute driveability is a MUST, and you cannot afford any maintenance other than oil changes, and/or you're still in school...my answer is STOCK (This can include I/H/E just to hold you over).

If you don't meet that category, search up a bunch of Boost projects, and a bunch of All Motor / Swap projects. Get a feel for what's involved, and what kind of driving experience each caters to.

My quick opinion. Easiest way to have the most fun, is your basic bolt-on turbo kit on the LS keeping the stock wastegate spring, tuning for a sweet AFR, and you can have your fun with 225whp....but even with that, what you spec'd in your post shows you need some more basic research on everything involved. But yea, search a bunch on this forum because there are wayyyy too many answers that people here could give you.

I mean, I and others could keep going here and dive deeply into everything you stated, but it would take 5 pages, and it would keep going back and forth with a bunch of flaming since we don't know your goals, wants, needs, etc....and since you put forth all these options, it looks like you may be unsure of your goals...so keep reading and get in touch with those options of yours....

Sounds like a good idea to me. Also get it compression tested to see if your engine is even worth toying with, and check that normal maintenance has been done (i.e. Timing Belt at the 110k km mark).

I created this thread because I wanted some super honda OG's thoughts. I knew boost would be the best for the car but a friend of mine had an EK with H22a with no ac/ps full interior and that thing hauled like a bullet and with my hook ups in the GTA, I could get all the things I listed for h22 for about 3500 ( rich friends, dumb drivers u get the picture )

I chose a mild all motor build for ultimate driveability. I have the straight line performance of an ITR, without sacrificing much Fuel Economy at all. As my University days come to a close, the build will begin to move into the more serious range. So it looks like you are looking for the same kind of driving experience.
How seriously fast do you want to get? And where do you want to be fast (Drag strip/street/auto-cross)?

IMO this thread is better than the usual noob threads that just ask ''What should I do to my LS Integra? I want to be fast!''
At least you have listed options, showing you know what your options are, and you're willing to learn and research.

hmm...I need ps and ac. I don't want to be sweating my ass off in my car, nor get a workout while I'm trying to park...I go to the gym for that. But if that is what pleases you, then shiiiit!...go for it. But I'd rather go fi, either turbo or sc...and that just depends on what I would have to sacrifice...bc like I said, I NEED AC and PS!

Thats why I said go with cheapest and easiest route. You can always blow it up and have money left over for a swap later on down the road. You ask so I gave my opinion. In the end, you are the one to ultimately make the choice.

Boost. With the money and time you'll spend on a swap, you could get way more wHP than a stock H22 or ITR swap would get.

The thing hauled like a bullet because putting a H22 in an EK is going to shave weight off of what the prelude chassis weighs, even with full interior.

Regardless, you could spend $3k on a swap and possibly another $1k in service and wear parts/seals/pumps/etc or you could spend $3k on a great turbo kit and boost your car well beyond what a H22 or ITR would make.

Cliffnotes:
Spend $4k for an ITR swap = 30 wHP upgrade
Spend $3k on a turbo kit = 150 wHP upgrade

thanks for all your info everybody. I plan to turbo in the future but I want to stay in the all motor crowd. My weapon of choice would be an B20VTEC. my guestion is how much would a B20VTEC match up to an H22? I'm not saying same car, same driver bullish, but realistically if I build up my b20vtec with RS machine ITR 84mm pistons, aftermarket rods, all the bottom end machine work I can get, GSR head skunk2 valves springs, retainers, CTR intake cam , ITR exhaust cam and GSR tranny with LSD and ITR final drive, could I keep up with my buddy in his h22? remember its an EK coupe ( or is it EJ? ) with full interior and some suspension work vs my DC2 teggy wit the listed B20VTEC running tokico illuminas and skunk2 slipover coilovers hoping to push out maybe 187hp and around 135-145 torque? if this seems like a n00b,ricer question feel free to flame on cause in that case I would deserve it lol
