Universal Muffler

I want to purchase a universal muffler that has an inlet of 2.364". I would do the full catback system, but it costs a little too much for me right now, and I don't think i will be doing any major modifications to the car in the near future. I'm going to bring the muffler into a muffler shop to have the work done.

My question is how will the installation be done, since the piping size will be different (integra stock 1.8"). How much can i expect the job will cost? Will there be any fitment problems? Will the muffler sound be identical to a set up in which i did do catback?

Thanks for any help!

OK, first off do some research on what it is you want. Add up the cost of the muffler (hoping you dont get a cheap one) and whatever the muffler shop quotes you to fit it in. Keep in mind you will also need them to weld on some new hangers for the muffler, thats not free. If that about the same cos tas a cat back, then get the cat back. I would suggest just saving a bit more for the cat.

Dude, please just save up and get a full exhaust system. If you are looking for good sound only...there aren't many mufflers that will do the job. Mainly flowmaster, and magnaflow might sound okay on a stock exhaust...but I'm not even sure of that. Secondly, if you are looking for some power gains...you might net 0.5-1 hp with a free flowing muffler. Anything universal will turn your car into something that sounds like a weed-wacker, or a pissed off bee.

Save up, and get a used cat-back. Search up some common ones people use on here that are proven. (People seem to like A'Pexi, but there are many others).

First of all, how much r you willing to spend. For me, I learned my lesson, I used to have a universal mufler with costum pipe on my teg and it doesn't sound good at all. Now I have a HKS high power full catback. Trust me, if you go with the universal one, you wont be happy about the resolt. Like what others said, save up some more money, then get you a good product that will last.
