Upgraded Pressure plate/flywheel
Another noob question. Have i/e/h. Wondering if I should invest in a performance pressure plate/lightened flywheel clutch kit. Just to increase my 96 ls reliability and make for more precise shifts.
If I don't do that this summer, I will just sum up my engine's breathing with an intake manny.

A clutch won't make a real performance difference unless it's slipping, and unless you're like my mechanic and have the skills and tools to drop a tranny in half an hour, it's probably not worth the labor cost to just replace the flywheel. Do what I did: wait until your clutch starts getting a bit tired - whether that's from wear or from heightened torque levels - and then do both clutch and fw at the same time.
Crower cams and some tuning will get you to said power levels...

Yeah, I would wait until you clutch starts to go before doing that. It sucks to take the tranny off just to replace the flywheel, assuming you do things yourself.

make that three. i waited til my clutch wasn't able to propel my ls/v properly to change my clutch and flywheel. the main point is, do it altogether since it's gonna be out anyway.

It's still a PT Cruiser no matter how much power it has.
I beat several Porsches and a new '06 Z06 Vette last weekend... and I did it legally without endangering other people on public roads. Who's the real winner?

Straight line VS Autocross is a whole different story. Doesnt mean your car is fast- just means that youre a hell of a driver.
Congrats, none the less.

Well would you rather be the winner mainly because you are a good driver, or because you bought/modified a car that's faster than the other one?
And while you are right about the driving thing, I can't exactly say I could have done it in an '87 Ford Escort wagon.

This is true. The power to weight ratio you have achieved with rather tasteful and common engine mods is very impressive. And to be a great driver is just icing on the cake. I won an under 18 timed driving challenge in my mom's 106hp Civic EX sedan last year in 3 circuits that the police use to train their officers. Your website is very impressive as well. Kudos on all the success.
p.s. how tough was removing the A/C and the power steering?

Thanks A/C and P/S weren't very hard to take out. If you're really interested, PM me and I'll find you some links for the P/S (A/C you just kinda rip out whatever looks connected hehe)
