"URgent"Help ls compable with gsr

like the title says i have a problem i just recently did the ls/vtec conversion and my car is suppose to redline at 8k rpm for daily use my ls cluster is inacurate after 7k rpms i think...will a GSR cluster work with my type R ecu and will the revs match up or do i need a tachometer i want a clean stock lok.

your ls cluster should be accurate even in the red zone. yes a gsr or type r cluster will work fine, it doesn't matter what ecu you have.

so are u guys suggesting i should keep my stock ones.........even if i put the GSR cluster in i will be redlining at 8400........and the GSR only shows up to 8k for the redline........but thats a great idea my parents would freak if i went to 8400 on my ls ecu in the red zone they be like what are u doing.? thats a good idea White98LS

Hee hee thanks. If the LS cluster does in fact work like it's supposed to, it might actually be better than getting a GS-R cluster. Why? Because the LS tach ends at 8500rpm, so instead of shooting for 300 or 400 rpm into redline on the GS-R cluster, you can just keep an eye on the end of the tach and shift there. That's what I'd do. That needle is going to be moving fast though since 8500rpm is at like 4 o'clock....

don't put in your ls ecu, your cluster will work fine with the gsr ecu. ls ecu will only let you go to 7k and doesn't have vtec in it. anyway i'd keep the ls ecu, if i ever got a gsr swap in my hatch i'd keep the ex cluster to fool people.
