VTEC variation

I have a 1997 SiR with a B18C moto in it. However whenever VTEC engages it is not as load / aggressive as other VTECs. Don't get me wrong I still enjoy the performance but I was wondering why isn't it as load.

For that matter, instead of a one time bursts, my VTEC would seem as if it comes in at two different RPMS???????????

Explain please.

We have butterfly lobes where there are 2 stages of v-tec where the first stage engages somewhere around 5k and the second around 6k (I'm honestly not sure of those numbers though)

ok. But I am under the impression from reading that the 1997 SiR had only single stage.

Well the dealer (where I bought the car) did tell me that it was two stage. Is there any advantage / disadvantage of one over two stage VTEC

Jeez its not two stage VTEC....
at 4400 given all variables are correct "VTEC" will kick in
then at 5800 the butterfly valve in the intake manifold open providing a more direct intake of air into the chambers
