Ok here goes, I have a 95 Integra GSR riding on Koni Yellows with H&R sport Springs, along with Toyo T1-r tires on the stock fat 5 rims. Also have skunk2 upper arms and rear camber kit, otherwise stock LCA's, and stock sways.
I'm pissed because I was hoping the H&R springs would give me a decent drop without being too low, but it seems way low compared to what I thought it would be. I've owned several lowered civic hb's in the past so I know how to drive them. But it seems like my Integra scrapes on everything.
I have the springs mounted on the higher perch, but it's still very low, I don't know if they are sagging or what because they are only 2 months old!
This is my question, if I get the base Ground Control coilovers will my ride quality be drastically compromised? I think the base rate is 350f/280r? I figure if I get these I can lower them less and mess with the ride height to find the optimum height for street driving.
Also what is the deal with ITR springs on Koni Yellows? I did a search but I'm still unsure. If I put the ITR springs on which perch do I put it on, because I don't want it to be lower than the H&R sports that I have now. I know the ride quality would be better, but would it still handle good? Thanks guys.
p.s. any idea why every time i hit a large crack or crevice in the road it sounds like I just slammed my car on it's frame. It doesn't seem like its damaging anything but it sounds like and feels like I'm hitting so hard. I'm riding on 15's not 18s. I don't get it. Does it have something to do with the bumpstops or the skunk2 upper arms?
Are you sure you didn't get the Race springs instead of Sport? I think the Sports are blue and the Races are green.
The standard-rate GCs should have a similar ride, although it will be a little edgier mainly because they are linear springs rather than progressive. Expect a little harder ride but not much worse. Base spring rates are 380/250. Your current rates are 276/276. Be prepared for some extra understeer with that spring change.
ITR springs are 246/212 and are progressive in the rear only. They lower 0.4". Your handling won't be quite as sharp, but it won't be a complete loss especially if you have upgraded swaybar(s).

Yeah I'm positive I have the H&R sports. I looked up the part number on them. I just can't decide which ones to go for. Obviously the ITR springs would be more comfortable, but I'm hoping the handling and look would be ok. They're probably hard to find as well. I don't have upgraded sway bars, and don't plan to anytime soon. I'm trying to save money right now, so car mods are put on hold for now. I just wanna change the suspension setup so I'm not scraping on everything. I'm leaning towards the GC's I just want to maintain a good ride. Right now I ride on the softest setting with my Koni's.
It sounds like you're ok with the spring rate and handling, just don't want to scrape as much. What about the H&R OE Sport springs? Same front spring rate, a little softer rear spring rate @ 220lbs/in, and lowers 0.75" advertised (more like 1" in real life).

Choosing those over the GCs is like hitting on the fat girl at the bar when the supermodel is looking lonely.

sounds like something isnt right on your shock assembly if your hearing a clunk on every bump. that happened to my setup on the integra, went back and found i was missing the bushing in the lower part of the top hat. perhaps something maybe wrong with yours also.

The H&R OE Sports are suppost to be comparible to ITR's drop. I still had a scrap on the front end going down the sidewalk on my driveway on KYB AGX's.
You're shocks are either blown or something is not right to feel like you are hitting the frames of the car on every bump.
Most times getting coil overs will only make the ride stiffer/harder due to their higher spring rate.
ITR springs will no way make your car sit lower than it does not.

It's not thats it's on every bump, just the bigger cracks and crevices or raised up portions of the road, and it feels like theres no cushion, like no bushing or bumpstop or something. I just need to have someone look at it.
I think I've decided to go with ITR springs instead if I can find some. I found a couple places online that sell the ITR shock/spring combo together. I saw one place selling it for $200, and another for 140.00, but I only want the springs because I already have Koni yellows which are awesome shocks.
Then I was thinking maybe just the H&R OE springs, not sure yet. I really don't need coilovers because I don't want it lowered more than an inch. Plus I don't want the ride to be any stiffer than it already is. Most likely ITR springs if I can find them.
Then I realized, if I'm only gonna be lowering the car .75 inch with ITR or H&R OE Springs, then I don't need a camber kit anymore do I? Wow what a waste of money on my part. I bought the Skunk2 upper arms and a rear camber kit for almost $300 altogether, and now I don't even need it. Stupid H&R sport springs lowered me too much, and now I hate scraping on everything. Now i have to spend more money on getting all of that crap removed , putting the stock arms back in, and aligned again.
WOW. What a waste for a couple months of driving with that setup.
But at least I can sell the skunk2 arms, rear camber kit, and the H&R sport springs. If anyone knows where I can just get some ITR Springs please let me know, I would honestly rather have these than the H&R's. I'm leary about their springs now.
