Weight Loss Guide 94 - 2001 Integra Coupe

I did this today, to help some of you prep for track days or whatever

Trunk lid thing that goes behind the back seat = 7 Lbs

Door panel = 9 Lbs x 2

Arms rest console = 5 Lbs

Side panel that goes from doors to trunk = 5 lbs x 2

Floor and trunk mats = 10 lbs

Back seat = 27 lbs

Spare = 20 Lbs

plastic panel that covers taillights from inside of trunk = 3 lbs

spare cover the wooden thing = 9 lbs

Glove box crap = 5 lbs

Total = 114 lbs

now i dont have jack, and a couple things in my car anyway, so this was just added weight loss

let me tell you though, when i took all this crap out, it was felt

car accelerated a little better, braking was amazing, and stock suspension handled awesome

all in all worth it, if this wasent my DD, i would always keep it like this

I read the carpet weighs about 40lbs, and I've heard two estimates on the sunroof: 20 and 40. A/C is also about 40. Removing those three will give you another 100lbs.

well i did this to see how much i could take out quickly...

all of the things i took out, anyone can take out in 15-30 minutes time

that was the point of this... next time you autocrossing or whatever... you can take all this crap out in like half hour and have your car actually run better...

then later you can put it back in.. like i did

The sunroof and all the associated stuff (motor, rails, etc.) is a bit over 40. The A/C is 46lbs, give or take a pound.

I'll make a thread right now.

I take out a lot of the same stuff for autocrossing but leave it in for daily driving. It takes me 5 minutes to take out the rear seats, seatbelt buckles (mainly so they don't flop around), floormats, cargo cover, spare, and jack. That's 70lbs in 5 minutes!

Keep in mind there is a lot more that could be done, and that some items on the list add weight. For example the interior panels you took out that I left in, plus I still have my stock stereo, some of the sound deadening is still in there, and all my safety equipment (both airbags, ABS, bumper supports, etc.) is still in. The car still could be made a lot lighter, but since it's a daily driver I try to keep it functionally similar and safe for the streets. Nothing like winning races in your FWD 4-seat 4-cylinder daily driver!
