weird noise

i have a little problem.....theres sum bad ticking coming from behind my engine.....it sounds like its from around the intake manifold area.....at first i thought it were my valves....but valves are distinctive.....it sounds like paper going back and forth....anyone know wut might be the prob??

it goes on its own speeds.....but it kinda dies down after the engine warms up fully

Well, then I would say whatever it is, it doesnt have to do with anything based off your crank speed... (cams, pistons, dist., etc...) Just have to start narrowing it down....

Maybe some component that runs off the engine??? Like water pump, or alternator?? Maybe blower fan????
