Weird problem

Ok, cant figure this one out. I'm leaving school today and my car starts bogging really bad. I push the gas in all the way and it continues to bog out of control. I continued to drive home and halfway there the bogging stopped. So, I go to a buddies house park the car for about an hour or so, get back in the car and bogging is back. What the hell is going on?

it could be a bunch of things could have moisture in the gas tank your spark plugs could be fauled out, it sounds like it could be an ignition problem.

pull out a spark plug or two and check for any moisture in the combustion chamber. This happened to me once and it turns out there was just enough water in there to cause intermittent bogging, but not enough for hydrolock. Did you recent drive in the rain or hose down any part of your engine bay? Could also be the start of a cracked head gasket.... you can do a compression/leak down test for that.

I'd get it checked out asap. Could be bad gas, dirty fuel filter, dirty injectors, or even a bad distrbutor. When was the last time you had a tune-up?

What type of gas, brand name did you put in your car? Also were you using at least 91+ octane? You always want to be careful where you get your gas.

does it bog during idle only? or every so often..

my friend's turbo'ed GSR has that prob...he steps on the gas and it takes a bit to kick in...

he's still trying to figure it out..it's at the shop right now...

right now they tuned it with the FPR (which i installed recently) and the AFC...it's still kinda doing it from time to time..

i'll post back when i get word..

good luck

YES!!! I made that call... hehehe actually i was wondering did you clean out your engine bay or anything with water recently? When mine happened I had just cleaned it and the water I guess slowing leaked through the gaps into my wires and then even worse down onto the spark plugs (which means I needed some serious checking to do with the seal on the plugs in the chamber).
