what kind of carbon fiber is this?
so i got this carbon fiber hood, it was fairly cheap since it had unrolled edges and a fiberglass frame. but the actual color of the carbon fiber is weird. its like green-goldish with black interwoven.
why does it look like that?
btw: its for sale now, other things have come up and it needs to go
I'm about 84.6% sure that the yellow threads are kevlar. Just on the top layer for show.

yeah I was gonna say it looked really good even if its just for show. But if it really is lightweight too thats even better.
The kevlar barely weighs anything more than c/f and it's only on the top layer which is very thin... virtually no weight gain.

ohh, so its KEVLAR, thanks guys, i was wondering what it was. i bought it brand new off someone on a classifieds. the hood is definitly very light weight. its dangerous when im working under the hood and a breeze comes by. i bought it for 275 and picked it up since it was local. since its kevlar does it mean its stronger than the average carbon fiber hood?
